Technology coming also to kindergarten
It is inevitable that the use of technology has spread to the world of education and childcare. At Finnish American Kindergartens, Kindiedays is an invaluable tool for teachers. It has not only reduced our workload but compliments our existing practices and policies. Here are the top three features that we could no longer do without!

Firstly
Recording and reviewing child attendance. It is simple, confidential and shows in real time the number of children present, number in groups and where the children are at certain times in the day e.g; park, naproom.
Secondly
Communicating with parents. Face to face communication is always the preferred option, but sometimes it is not possible. A successful partnership needs a two-way flow of information and knowledge This is realised with the Kindiedays app, as all the information connected to a child is visible to both the kindergarten and the child’s parents instantly, quickly and effectively. Kindiedays is an excellent system to inform parents of meetings, events, school trips and day to day issues. No more paper flyers or long emails!
Thirdly
Recording and assessing using photos, videos and notes. Photos and videos can be used for documentation, shared with families and connected to the curriculum learning objectives. The child's journal and automatically collected portfolio make the children’s learning journey visible to the child’s educators, parents and also for the child. All data is secure - that is of paramount importance.
